Multiple lighting setups were used while rendering scenes and to isolate specific elements. This is evident with the trees in the opening scene, which combine long shadows with snowy detail in the branches.”

The shots of the skiers were completed with the help of character animation specialist Nick Savy, who hand animated movement to ensure it was in keeping with the particular style of biathlon skiing.

Joris Wauman, TV delegate at the IBU and Eurovision Sport, said: “After having delivered an iconic opening sequence for the inaugural event of the European Championships, Jump came up with a very strong pitch. The initial feedback from the stakeholders in the world of biathlon has been very positive.”
